After we had seen the E3 trailer of the Mirror's Edge remake in last year's June, EA gave us no news on it up until now. The wait is finally over and fans of the action game have reason for rejoicing, as new, yet still unconfirmed information has been spread. The RocketChainsaw team claims that they have gotten brand-new details from unpublished videos they received at first hand. Since several independent sources have confirmed them, the following news are more than likely what could be considered the truth.
The reboot of Mirror's Edge is not supposed to be a sequel, instead, as mentioned previously, a remake of the well-known action game, with Faith as the central character. It goes without saying that the game will not just receive a visual improvement, but also a few other enhancements. Therefore, DICE focuses on an open world concept and an always online system. This is supposed to guarantee breathtaking dynamic online scenarios in which you can jump in without any disruption from your gameplay.
Furthermore, the fighting system will change: The boring killing system we know from many games, where you click a single key in order to take out an enemy, is going to be replaced by the tactical use of your character's abilities and combinations of different attacks. Firearms are said to be exclusive for your foes, however, Faith might be able to pick them up after she has taken those out.
According to the same information, the game will be released in 2016.
