[HELP] translating db

can anyone tell me what's the best programme to use to translate the db i am translating the itemtype, npc, map, lottery ect by hand but i need help with the shop.dat and itemtype.dat files, already half way through the cq_action all 148 pages of it will release it when i am done this is for the new db DeathNote released last month any help would be great ty guys

well for what i have translated i used ace translator but u can use Google too

I am using ace translator but when i translated the shop.dat and the itemtype.dat files my client wouldn't start after i put the files back in so i am prolly doing something wrong i am sure...lol

when u translate them make sure u do it from a hex editor not notepad

ok i am going to ask this question with fear of sounding like a complete noob lol, how do i do that? i'm not used to using hexeditor and i'm not sure how to get it translated through winhex, can anyone tell me how to do it please

sorry for the double post but i could really use some help translating the itemtype.dat file, i will be more than happy to release it once it is done just need a lil help to get there, ty all

hehehe nevermind i figured out will release the translated itemtype.dat for the new db DeathNote released when i am done
