private server levels 1-500

Hello,
i am making a private server but i want people to level from 1 to 500. I modified formula.ini but in the exp.csv levels go from 1 to 255 but no further. if i add till 256 till 500 my server wont launch. Can anyone help me on fixing that? (some people said there were chinese private servers where you could reach level 3000 so ...)
I wouldnt mind if the required exp for 256, 257, 258, ... are all the same.

2nd problem: i know dekaron extreme had this when it came out. if you saw a mob there about 172 levels below or above you, you dc'ed. for example, when i was lvl 80 in my server, Tritone (level 400) made me dc, but when i was 250 i could visit him. Extreme managed to fix it.

Any help on these 2 problems?

The level data type is 1 byte (FF = 255), so it can't go over 255. Its just not possible, as 256 would be 100 in hexadecimal, and that would require 2 bytes.
If the data type was 2 bytes, the max lvl could be 65535.
If 3 bytes, 16777215.

but how come on the old 36.000x exp chinese server you could get to level 3.000 ?

I am still trying to find where to get the server software as when I type in search "Dekaron Server" I get over 500 pages... Can someone be nice enough to point me in the right direction?
