It's been a while since there has been any sort of major Planetside content release, but Sony Online Entertainment has sent players into speculation mode with a mysterious new countdown clock and a short comic strip. In what can best be speculated as a group of scientists ready to launch some new...thing. So what does this new clock mean for the game? What we know for sure is that Planetside will reach its 7th anniversary on May 19th, so whatever the countdown means will likely relate to that. Aside from the comic strip and the impending 7th anniversary there is no solid information hinting at what the countdown clock might mean. In any case, we only have to wait 17 days, 14 hours, and 27 minutes to find out, which puts the countdown timer ending right around the game's 7th birthday.
