The announcement of the new Wolfenstein has brought a lot of excitement among most of this cult FPS serial's fans. But at that time we were only given promises and showed the CG trailer. Now there is something concrete for us. Namely, Machine Games has publicly presented a piece of The New Order gameplay, revealing the idea of putting together some classic and modern elements into the FPS genre.
For instance, the game uses two systems for health regenerating. Players are rewarded by finding medkits and armor that can even add more health to the character. On the other side, the player regenerates the energy by taking cover and standing still for a while. However, the energy doesn't regenerate completely and the process is not instant. Furthermore, the player will be able to carry a whole arsenal of weapons, some of them usable simultaneously in dual wield mode.
And probably the most interesting feature is Lazerkraftwerk weapon that cuts metal objects, which is going to be very useful in solving spacial puzzles in the game. To see how it functions, check the gameplay videos.
Wolfenstein: The New Order arrives at the end of the year for PC, X360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and possibly Wii U platform.
