You cant satisfy everyone, thats a fact. But a few things keep the server going. Like regularly some small updates to keep the experience fresh, events and providing a steady server etc. etc.
And one things that is very important but alot of server owners/teams are not doing enough in my opinion is communicating with their player. Be involved with your players. Dont leave your players in the dark when something happens. Use your website, just a small post when something is going on can be enough.

It is very much possible to make everyone happy. Even if they find some defects in the server, that does not mean they are unhappy.
Players are at fault but so are owner and developers, primarily arabs for opening a shitton of servers per week. Guess why they are hated here.

On-topic : psro always have a competition and who win it take players for some period so we dont know..
