Advertisement Rules Update -

So since the very recent event of a client being horribly infected, I tried to come up with a GOOD solution to solve this problem in future.


Create an advertisement rule, that all DLL files and all EXE files have to be in a SEPERATE download. So people can download those first and check them.

This way it will automatically solve itself, since somebody will always post if there's a virus in the client files.

This might become a pain in the ***, but just start the rule this week and say it will be enforced on all "new" threads after 3 weeks. This should give server owners more than enough time to re-upload their clients.

Of course, this doesn't completely prevent it, but it makes it a lot harder.

I agree, im also free to help by downloading them to check for people that are lazy or don't know how to check properly.

It is a good idea, but with the lack of actual approval on advertising good luck.

Every server should be required to post virustotal results themselves.

Or post the exe/dll files so moderators can approve them.

The whole advertising section, should have something that the Mods have to 'accept' their post request, now everyone is just spamming to get 50 posts & posts their thread.

This will help for mods to check the .exe files better & spam threads won't be in there either..

That's easily fakeable. That's why I said, dont allow them to upload a "All in one" package.. That way its easier to just download 3mb to check the files and at least ONE player will check it.. alerting everyone else to check as well...

That should be enough for starters, since there is no perfect solution without checking each one.
