Best country to host a server at?

Where should I host a server?
I could get a cheap VPS with great specs at Germany, but I don't think that Germany would be safe.
How about the Netherlands?

Germany is best i think but u need other Sweden

I would say Sweden because i live there aswell ,and from what i know we hosts TPB and Wikileaks already wich basically tells you everything

And sweden is very expensive..

the difference here is that vSRO is a branch of Silkroad, not Joymax directly, while ECSRO had direct gold/silk sells including stuff on iSRO
i say before hosting, take note and make a list of causes for you server to be shut down

ECSRO werent hosted in Germany.. but still
Grindroad is hosted in Germany and they are still alive also some other servers are located in Germany and they are all fine..

Joymax is nto the direct owner of vSRO so they wont do it

Still,these WoW servers were actually very huge and they made profit in the size of ECSRO if not bigger... As for hosting... you can go for Germany.

As long as you don't have over 5000 players(no worries,you won't get that much,not in this life,not with current skills of yours) and you don't earn over 20k$/mo you won't get even touched by joymax. The court fee is just too high and it is simply not worth sueing some low servers.

BTW: Any comparison between Joymax and Blizzard here is not appropriate. Blizzard compared to Joymax is a ******* huge corporation earning millions and millions of dollars JUST from WoW. They also are one of the best nowadays game makers(Diablo,StarCraf,WarCraft). Joymax's just a small fish,hardly known on the "scene",only known for Silkroad(and only by it's players...).

Seems you guys didn't make any kind of progress from your mistakes. You shut your emulator down after some days of it's 'succesful' start and so did happen to your vSRO server. Oh well.

We had good reasons to shut it down. We don't want to host low quality stuff, so we chose not to host anything at all rather than hosting **** (like all other 9001 private servers out there now, with expection of few)

We didn't really launch our emulator, it was just an open beta test to see how it performed under a huge load, and the test was fairly successful in terms of feedback. Everybody knew it was just a test and nobody except a few have ever seen the newest zelos emu.

Anyway when we got our hands on the files, we decided to make a vsro server and then switching over to the emulator when it was completely finished, but then the files got released publicly and people started joining high-rate servers, there was simply no place for zelos anymore.

OT: There is no 'best' country, you need to choose between security, availability and performance. If you want the safest country it would probably be something like middle of Africa, or random Asian country, but the network performance isn't very good there, on the other hand if you'd host it in a country with a rather good network like Germany, France or the US it will be less safer for the server and especially the hoster legal-wise.
