Like you said I added a "watch" option, when a .o2 is changed, the tool is triggered, then no need to write into console. Here we go in attachement:

Have you thought of open-sourcing your tool? That way other devs could contribute and help in enhancing this tool. I'm sure there is some interest in it.

No one is going to contribute and help in enhancing this tool, that's the silkroad community. Most people would take it, use it and then promote his super fancy great server.

I know most of SRO dev community is pretty toxic and profit-oriented. Basically everybody is doing their own thing. In the end, players just want a fun and fair SRO experience. If the dev community would work together, instead of competing against each other, it would greatly improve everyone's experience.

However, gigola123 has published his tool already, even it's just the binary.
Surely there'd be people only using it to promote their fancy server. But to be honest, that's not the point. Most "big" server owner's have tools like this anyways, and yes they are not sharing it.
If open-source SRO tools or emulators exists, those profit-oriented people are being challenged quite more.

Hey Pumpya, thank you ! Here a full thread of the tool: (Download the new version is better !)

Like Devsome said, it's "useless" to open source anything there, 99% will just clone the project, update it and keep it for them. Just take a look to sro_devkit, @ did an awesome job, community contribution is poor and you can see much server using his code + enhanced it (new GUI, item usable condition, much awesome stuff) and no one share his work.

However, like I said on my thread, you can easily reverse it with dotpeek, there is not something big behind, just handling all map files and found a certain logic. I'll release more asap when I'll finish the enhanced sro map editor to handle 5x5 & 3x3 region map.

But yeah, I'll release source code of everything when I'll finish it, actually project is not 100% done, I don't have free time those days



Off topic, the sad thing here it's some people give more credit to someone who "share" sro screenshot (SRO PServer Guides & Releases) to use in your website or your launcher than people who release stuff like that. (I mesure credit with thread Thanks + Reply). That's show how Sro community is more interested by the identity and the promotion of their server than their server itself.

I got your point. But if you can just decompile it, why not just releasing the source code? I mean every somewhat experienced developer can reverse it anyways.

But it's your intellectual property, so it's up to you what you do with it and not my business
