Lets make a server

Hey guys (and gals).


So, I've been checking the advertisement section daily, several times daily actually, and I'm kind of shocked no servers that would fit my taste (or the taste of many others) exist.

I've also thought about this a lot, and I have decided I'll try to get a group of people together to make a good, stable PvP oriented private server. Now, because my programming skills lack - and they lack badly - I would need atleast one good programmer aka Administrator to run and host the server.

You're probably wondering ''Why would I pay to keep a server up&upgrade it with my money?''. Well, if the Administrator does what he/she is told, is active and does a good job, all the money from donations would go to him/her.

Me and any other GMs we may get would decide about the drops, gears, everything, do in-game events, take care of tickets, GSs etc. Basically the Admin would only manage the database and keep the server up and upgrade it if needed (connection-wise, amount of space-wise etc.).

I know we have some pretty decent SQL masters out there, and some who are all-out professionals so to speak.

The server would (PROBABLY) be Ep4, or Ep4.5 just like Eternity. Eternity was a great server, sadly the staff /failed miserably and couldn't speak English. It would be a server where in a few hours you would be geared enough to compete in PvP, but also a server where you'd have to work to be the very best.

Donation would bring advantages, but nothing obvious - everything would drop ingame. Stuff like OI would be open 24/7 etcetc.

If you are interested for a GM or a Admin position, post here or message me. Please note, that if your English isn't acceptable, your experience with private servers, personality or activity doesn't suit me, you're automatically out. I will most likely only choose people I know from there forums. Example, (sorry Bane just a example) if Bane applied, I would accept him with no questions asked, if some random person applied, I would reject him/her with no questions asked.

EDIT: Me and my friend who is helping me decided that all the money for upgrading and keeping the server up will go to the Admin(s) + some extra for the effort, but not all of the possible income. Please note that this server will not be a money milking machine but a free-to-play, free-to-win server, donate-to-help and donate-to-gear up faster.

Not trying to be mean here but all i read was
"I want someone to do all the work(the admin) while I play around in game with GM powers(the gms)"...
Sorry but I would never want to work on a server like that...

Thats really your problem shadow :| I have no problem with the Admin being a GM aswell, and I also said that they will get money from donations (aside from the money for the dedi, upgrading etc.), so they profit aswell.

Hey, please me for GM, i'm available 15h by days.
I know 4 programmations languages.
I speak 3 languages (French, English and German).
I play in shaiya since 3 years and i search you server type.
I'm an good GM and i know all events.
I know all rules of shaiya and all GM commands.
I can create 1 downloader in c++ for the game client.
I'm don't 1 newbie and i don't ask this job for play with the "GM Powers" ^^
i can install 1 vbulletin forum for you server and more.
my work it's free, i don't ask money and i'm an exellent GM !!
you get the best private server if you choose me !

Well, basically what's written there is whatsup xP U're fairly cool Swagga, even though sometimes you can be a 100% troll. I was thinking of releasing 70 gears and lv 70, but I probably wont.

We really need a reliable, 18+ admin. 18+ because there will be money involved, credit cards etc. (probably), so I kind of doubt a 15 year old can manage all that. GM's age doesn't matter though, neither does GSs - its all about maturity there.

So, Swagga, keep in touch and follow the thread, as soon as we get a Admin we'll start working on the website, droplist, ToS, basically everything. When we release it we'll get GSs (maybe some before that) and GMs will probably be chosen before the release.

I like the idea and i could/would like to help, mostly in-game (because i wouldn't be able to host the server and such by just having good knowledge about SQL) so ill be checking for this and if u get to need someone I'm always around

John if your SQL knowledge (basically you being able to modify stuff) is sufficent, thats really all we need Ofc, you can help ingame too....

Tell me, could you bring a server up and modify gears (stat wise - example), drops, spawn times...? We can and will help you find a host, (or the Admin) pay for the expenses of hosting&upgrading from the server donations etc.

If we get that, the only problem is the Website, I basically got most of the stuff (drops, gears, rates...) figured out.

I could do all the changes needed but on the SQL itself (i've messed around with several Shaiya databases in the past) but i'm not really good/experienced at doing the changes on the other files, just, as i said, on SQL...

Just saying this cause well....i tried to set up a local server some time ago and i kinda failed at it, so unless someone else could do the changes on the other shaiya files after i do the changes on the database, i wouldn't be of much help on that matter

And backing up the files would be essential, then the updater, website, shortcut, client....

Well I can use you as a Admin, if you can learn the file things or whatever, and can deff. use you as a GM

Are you asking someone to make YOU a server, pay for everything, do everything YOU tell them too, while you are the Admin/GM?????????? Not realy understating this topic..
