is there a way you can make it compatible with win 8? also i am on a exturnal monitor due tot he fact my laptop screen is cracked might that effect it?

it goes tot eh tray and a little ballon pops up tht says starting... but nothing happens at all also wont let me select fog....i think it might be the fact im running windows 8
