Furthermore, I suppose the codes will only be valid for 5 days after GC has ended in order to prevent overpriced selling.

You should always be. Riot doesn't scan accounts right away, but from what I've heard, they do "cleaning sweeps" and ban accounts.

I can tell you that buying referrals will lead to a punishment...
