I dont think so, because to make sockets to work (i guess) you need to make the executable read some aditional columns in some files, maybe costumes is similiar.

data/script/vehicle_shape.csv

make sure to have the textures at
data/texture/vehicle and the action files
in share/action/vehicle/...
