everyone wants something different for rappelz private server, so instead of crying on EPVP why dont you go make your own server instead of being lazy?

Unfortunately its very difficult to make a server that will stay alive for long.

If you make it 1x rates it becomes PVE server and all the PVP players wont play it and it dies.

If you make 15x+ rates its considered PVP server and people like you and many others wont join it.

So you can ether have 1x server and it will be 4 people playing it or you can have 15x server where you have people at launch but then only few are left a week after.

Rappelz private servers all die a slow suffocating death, and no one seems to have the right formula, but let me tell you as someone who was pushing for 1x rates 7.2 i no longer believe that is the best.

There are too many servers up now, and the only chance we as a community have of anything similar to what we used to play back in the day is for 1 server to unite everyone and kill off all the other that are just taking playerbase away from 1 server everyone should be playing on.

I got something in the works but it will take some time since I am not that familiar with the files yet. The plan is to build both the server and client from the source while fixing some of the (exploitable or gamebreaking) bugs. I'd love to start with Epic 6 and slowly patch it up to 7.2 to give players the opportunity to progress through the content as intended by the original developers. Overall the rates for exp, drops, quests and taming will be close or slightly lower than official. Rappelz lives off of grinding, be it in dungeons or the open world, and thus I wish to recreate the old experience. Getting an orc or pixie should feel amazing and running around with angels, hawks and so on should be a privilege, not the standard. On that note once applied I also plan on adjusting quest exp here and there, namely the witch series, simply to push players back into Crystal Valley and Veiled Island respectively. Expect reaching R5, 6 and 7 being rough and not something you'll do in a week or two. This is the only major change I have in mind and everything else will mirror the vanilla experience as close as possible. That being said forget about easy enchanting, world buffs or buff npc's in general. Want those juicy cm, cleric and kahuna buffs? Better level one up yourself or party with those classes.

On that note I also refuse to include a cash shop. I am not sure yet if handing out cash shop items as rewards for events is a feasible concept but all the good stuff such as consumables and decoratives might be available in HV. Which, of course, will be available to everyone. However this is just an early concept because I'll have to figure out how to balance prices of these items accordingly. There is nothing cool in Stamina Savers when popping them is just a nuisance so don't expect being able to run them 24/7. Also I'm no charity and since there will be no actual cash shop the server will run on voluntary donations simply to cover the uptime costs. Which, rest assured, won't be that much since the hardware is already online and chilling in my basement.

ETA is March 2021 but I'll eventually open a seperate thread for this in the near future.

good ideas. that is what we want. although i think sticking with official x1 rates is better than reducing them.
want to partner with OpenRZ? they are working on something similar
