One single man, who changes the world - that's a scenario one knows only from movies or rigorous dictatorships. Stating that "nothing is as powerful as an idea whose time has come", Invisible Children Inc.'s almost heart-wrenching video begins. Addressing the global community via the Internet, it is nothing but a call for justice - and a call to take actions against war criminal Joseph Kony.

Since 26 years, this very person is abducting children in Central Africa (aprox. 60.000 up to today), giving the boys weapon and abusing the girls as sex slaves. Being in command of the LRA, the Ugandan Lord's Resistance Army, he is now wanted for massive violation of human rights, war crimes and condemnation of humanity.

In case that you never heard of Joseph Kony before, you are part of a group containing almost 99% of world's popluation that hasn't heard of him either. This is a fact that the Invisible Children Inc. is trying to change by their project called KONY 2012.
The media is said to be guilty for this global unawareness, since they control what we see and what we hear of.

Jason Russell, protagonist of this filmlet, met his African friend Jacob nine years ago. Jacob told him that all he wanted was to die, so he could possibly see his brother again who was executed by the LRA while Jacob was watching. Being emotionally overwhelmed by this story, Rusell promised to do anything he would be able able to do, to finally stop the LRA and get Kony arrested. "Do you understand? We WILL get him!"

In the short timespan of two days, the video yet reached stunning 10.000.000 views on YouTube. As this number is rapidly growing, it will soon be outdated already. Kony's face is one of the most clicked faces in the web's history, probably the most viewed one.


After some quite impressing actions of people from alle over the world, the US government decided to deploy advisors to Africa, to help the Ugandan government tracking Kony. "Never before the US government take such steps if it wasn't for self defense. This time it was not the government's wish, but it was the people's will."

To avoid a retreat of US troops from Uganda, it is essential that the world is making senators clear that Kony has to be arrested and that the search after him has never to be cancelled. Actually, he should be caught and convicted this year. The so called Action Kit contains, besides being free, posters, placards and assorted things to make the world aware of the most wanted war criminal alive. Even stars such as Rihanna are fully supporting this project - and what they say or tweet spreads like wildfire. The whole campaign against Kony is financed by donations.

What you've done wrong here is to put up your own thoughts about this. Then it's not a newsarticle anymore it's a debate now. I've never in my whole entire life been a newswriter. But one thing i know is to recognize different articles. I suggest you to take this down or re-write it atleast, to prevent spams and insults.

First off all: This is not my article. As one can clearly see, there is a caption at the bottom leading you to the German original, which I translated. You see, translating is my job - might be noticeable from my badge.
Anyway, to give an answer to your post: There are different types of texts: Articles, Commentarys, Apostilles, etc. Not all of these are meant to be objective, however there are made to reflect the author's thoughts on a specific, most likely controversial topic.
Furthermore, the very article we are speaking of is objective. It does not contain it's authors point of view but it does describe the filmlet it is about.
Besides all this: How comes that you think we here on elitepvpers would try to avoid discussions? This is everything we NOT stand for! Freedom of speech is our most important value. We appreciate any effort on a mannered argument. You may keep that in mind.

I am kinda confused of your aggressive tone here, to be honest. Anyway, let's get right to the point: I do know what objective means. However I fear that you do not. The very part you quoted is absolutely, and without any doubt objective, since it is just listing facts about Joseph Kony, who is abducting children in Central Africa, who is world's most wanted war criminal, etc.
I assume you somehow misunderstood a few things here. Apropos assume: Assuming one's self to be more knowing than others is not a nice way of arguing - unless you keep this to your self.
