Vitaly is legit. I bought from him multiple times and have had no negative experiences. At first I was cautious about being scammed but I sent him money in very small amounts and after each payment he'd trade me the right amount of coins.
It's his own decision if he wants to work with middlemen or not; just because he refuses to work with middlemen does not automatically make him a scammer. Bad experiences do happen with them and I can totally see why he would prefer to deal directly with his clients. Middlemen also charge fees which would mean he'd have to increase the price of his coins.
If you're that worried about being scammed xspeedx, why not do the same thing I did? Just buy 700mil coins in small increments (e.g 10-20mil at a time). That way, you're only risking $5-10 or less rather than sending $100 at once. You don't need to send $1 x 100 either. Just send maximum $5 at a time if you're that worried. If you're STILL paranoid about losing such a small amount of money, then maybe online trading isn't for you.
Here's my Paypal history with the payments I've sent to him for coins. I have never had any issues or bad experiences with him and always received the full amount of coins for each transaction. He's trustworthy.
