Linux is actually easy to handle. If you're not focusing on games, I'd say it's a pretty solid choice.

If I would just program or use the browser, I would install it.
But I play games and I couldn't play the most of them anymore.

You can try it by installing a virtual machine. It's really interesting to explore an other OS and see the differences.
