Anyone who can push the lane hard and be able to leave and gank other lanes. Ryze is a terrible pusher and having no AP makes his damage to towers also terrible. Anivia is also a great pick, her egg makes it so Ryze cannot kill Anivia without help from a jungler. Even so, her burst after 6 is huge and with the ability to push the lane through Ryze will lose CS and ultimately you will win the lane.

Okie. Thanks. By the way, would you recommend Ryze as a mage to a beginner?

Uh, to a beginner, why not? I think a beginner just needs to begin with one champion and continue to play that champion. Eventually they'll branch out and player other champions.

To play Ryze at his best I personally suggest learning how to smart cast if you don't already know how to.

Cassiopeia is a great Ryze counter.
She can just push her lane all day long and she usually wins the trades against him.

And she gets (like Ryze) even more dangerous in lategame.
Alot of AP carries tend to fall off in the lategame, but there are a few who don't. (Ryze, Cassiopeia, Vladimir, Karthus, and I guess Mordekaiser aswell)

People like to say Cass counters Ryze but whenever I play the match-up I end up winning.

Which other Champs do you like to play other then Ryze, and why? Which Champ do you dislike the most?

Top or Mid?
My runes are MR red, ap/level yellow, AP blue, AP essences, you know better ones?
My masteries are 21/8/1, what masteries do you advise me?

I win 80% of my vladimir games, only loose top vs jax/lee etc.

You obviously loose topa gainst Brusiers with Gapcloser if you dont run any Armor Runes. Swap your Yellows for Armor, AP/lvl is better then flat ap and imo 21 defense is pretty strong on vlad

I play a lot of Ryze, Lux, Vlad, Ezreal, Riven, Graves, and I used to main Kennen, not so much anymore.

I play other champions but those are the ones I'm confident in.

The champion I probably hate most going up against has got to be Anivia. Her burst is huge and she is a pain to kill, I find her more of a chore to play against than Morgana.

Both top and mid are great although you will probably see him top more.

I would run:

Red: MPen
Yellow: HP Per Level
Blue: Flat AP or Flat MR
Quints: Movement speed or Flat AP

21-9-0 is better than 21-8-1, you have a chunk of HP for your early game, 21-0-9 is not bad either giving you Flash cooldown as well as death timer decrease and movement speed.

Lee Sin counters Vlad at top lane, he's able to sustain and avoid ganks. I haven't seen much of Jax lately to comment on him.

Jax can farm you with a jungler that has a stun quite easy.

Boots 3/4 pots, you can never go wrong with that as a starting item. I like to rush Revolver or WOTA into CDR boots then Rylais.
