1 day it's enough to be honest since the acc its done in less than 1 day .. however sometimes you stop the machines and you just resume the bots next day for any reason. So 3 days its the best option (3) for that cases since you can stop the machines for any trouble/patch and resume next day and still have xp boost.
for refs 1-10 I use option 3.
I added this to the FAQ:
Q) I don't have SSD, loading game takes too long!
Spoiler
If you don't have SSD but you have a lot of RAM available there is possibility to enhance your setup by creating a RAM drive were you will host the "master vm" then you create linked clones of the master vm on the normal HDD. You need to configure an extra options in the .vmx files of each VM.
This is explained by a another user here in the EPVP so thanks to him for sharing this method for those people that don't have SSD. The loading time will be similar to the ones that have SSD. The tricky part it's to make a small VM that can fit in a small RAM Disk my best was 7GB Win7tiny, but if you try harder maybe you can get less size .

I tested this solution and its good alternative to people that dont have SSD but have plenty RAM.
1 - Create RAM Disk with 6GB (need to find free tool to create this disks).
2 - The VM Master you copy LOL folder to your host PC and delete inside the VM and make clean disk to make it smaller.
3 - Put the VM Master inside the RAM disk.
4 - Create Shared folder for the League of Legends Folder that you moved to your host and set the right path at the bot config.
5 - Create Linked clones of your VM Master and save them in normal HDD/SSD (not ram disk).
6- Do the config options in the .vmx file like Lexxxx wrote before.
7 - Run the linked clones
Alternative you can leave the League of legends inside the VM Master, but you need to increase your RAM disk but at least you dont use shared folder for the game. Maybe you get some performance like that.
My test setup was:
RAM DISK 8.78GB=9000MB NTFS with SoftPerfect RAM Disk tool.
VM Master with Game Inside (not sharing the game) and then created 6 Linked Clones in the Normal HDD/SSD.
Disk usage on RAM disk it's = 6.72 GB.
