Dear Community Members,
I am writing to alert you to a concerning experience I encountered with
desidia.xyz, a website that I believe may be engaging in fraudulent activities. My interactions with them, combined with some reverse engineering analysis, have led me to suspect that their operations are not legitimate.
Initially attracted by the professional design of their website, I registered an account and purchased a $20 Fortnite Hack for a 7-day period, paying via a Steam Gift Card Code. After this transaction, the vendor informed me of a supposed error related to a Christmas sale, offered a personal discount, and removed certain products from their site. This sequence of events began to raise my suspicions.
In a regrettable decision, I proceeded to send an additional $100, receiving a download link for their software in return. The software, purportedly an updated version, turned out to be outdated and dysfunctional. My attempts to resolve the issue through their customer support were met with delayed and ineffective responses.
The depth of the scam became more apparent when I conducted reverse engineering on their 'launcher'. Contrary to expectations, the software did nothing substantial - it only generated error messages based on the executable file's bit-version. Notably, there were no features like a license file, activation key, or even a user login interface, all typical of legitimate software.
Further investigation revealed that the site's registration was very recent, and their explanations for various anomalies were unconvincing. Using different VPN endpoints, I also discovered that the offers removed earlier were actually still available, indicating a potential scheme to deceive users based on their geographic location.
Despite my subsequent request for a refund and efforts to warn other users within their community, I have not received any reimbursement. This experience has underscored the importance of conducting thorough research and reverse engineering where possible, before making purchases online, especially when restricted to payment methods like Steam Gift Cards or cryptocurrency.
I urge extreme caution with desidia.xyz, which may be connected to I am ready to provide proof and detailed information to anyone interested in further investigating this matter.
