DX11 only when I finish the app revamp, I will probably focus first on DX11 for the coming expansion, depends on what some other bot makers choose to do .

Welp it's not too painful to switch to dx9 when I need to craft. =P

Especially considering the recent troubles/drama, and your mention of how little donations you get, I'd be happy to send a donation, around $50 or so. I haven't done any coding in a while but I feel the pain. =D Do you have paypal?

its been a while since i played FF14, and therefore, this bot. So as a reminder, when i set up my keybindings, what's the best setup for the skills? i have limited space for skills and the options menu has every skill available for crafting, even skills i dont even use when manually crafting. If i leave a skill's keybinding to 'none', will the bot completely avoid using that skill in its process? or is it best to somehow squeeze all the skills onto my hotbar somehow?

Speaking of skills, since there's a collection of cross skills available (i have them all), what 10 cross-skills are advised for the bot to work most efficiently?

The hotbar the skills are on doesn't have to be visible, it just has to have a keybinding that works.

I would make sure that all abilities are mapped, but what's most important is that the same keybinding is the same ability on every crafter class you have. (Easiest way is to pick a bar, like bar 10, and 'share' that between classes, for the cross-class abilities at least.)

I think it's true that if you don't give a keybinding for an ability, it won't use it...but consider, if the bot thinks that's the best ability to use at that moment, and you have it and could use it if you just had a keybinding for it...why not have the keybinding for it? Unless you think you're smarter than the bot, in which case why do you want it? XP

The only issue with keybinds is what I said before still.

if you have:
skill A bound on 1
skill B bound on alt+1

if your fps is low SKILL B might fire as SKILL A, due to the game no registering ALT DOWN, the solution is to add an alternative binding to skill B, changing it to ALT+[ for example.

Some skills you can set to the same hotkey as well, like all the Name of Elements can be set tot he same, allt he Brand's of Element as well.

You can cap your FPS @ 30 and be fine.

Another thing (I recently found out) is minimizing FFXIV helps a ton with speed, everytime you mouse over FF window location, you will make the recipe navigator get lost.

The new version (soon) has an option to minimize the process on start.

Well, my problem is i have all 10 hotbars filled with stuff (skills, shortcuts, macros, food, etc). Now i have everything i can think of bound to the hotbars, but some skills i dont have. Speaking of that, would it be better to have class specific skills to one key spread throughout the classes?

For example, say i'm crafting something with Armorer, and i bind 'Piece by piece' to say F1. This is a cross-skill that i dont use for any other class. Then i go to Goldsmith, and bind 'Maker's mark' to F1 as well. Another cross-class skill that i dont have bound to another class. Same thing with Rumination (which i think is Carpentry). And suppose i set that to F1 as well.

Now if i have all these skills set to F1, that i dont have set to cross-class, will the bot understand that if i'm on armorer, the only F1 it should try to use would be Piece by Piece, and not another F1 like Rumination? or would the Bot try to use all the skills set to F1 thinking i have them all?

PS: All the cross-skills i use between all my classes are: Byregot's Blessing, Careful Synth II, Steady Hand II, Manipulation, Hasty Touch, Rapid Synth, Waste Not II, Tricks, Comfort, Ingenuity II, and Reclaim (which i just cant seem to bind in the options menu). If anyone knows of another setup for cross-skills that's more efficient for this bot, please let me know. I would very grateful.

The bot detects which skills you have, then removes the skills you don't have bound, so what you're doing is fine.

The first post has crossskills recommendations for 3*/4*.

The issue you could potentially run into, is that say for instance you have Maker's Mark on your Armorer too (without realizing it, because you don't have it on a hotbar anywhere), and on your Armorer, it is NOT bound to F1. The bot will see that your Armorer has Maker's Mark, attempt to press F1, and something else will happen.

If, however, you are diligent and do not make that error, then yes, you can reuse the same hotkey for multiple abilities. I do, for all the cross-class abilities that I don't actually cross-class with. Like you said, this saves space.

The suggested list for which cross-class abilities are best to have equipped on every class is in the original post, and I would tend to agree, although that leaves a couple classes with an open cross-class slot.

Also, as a side note, I think Reclaim is the one skill the bot doesn't use. I honestly don't think it's really needed, because unless you're trying something way outside your range, or are really skimpy on cross-class skills, the bot is pretty much going to get you the item every time, only question is whether you'll get it HQ or not, and that depends on the mats you make it with, the level of gear you have, and luck.

I haven't had time to implement my new crafting algorithm ideas.

1. Saving computationally expensive operations.
2. Pushing the last SH to the last 5 hasties at least
3. Running an expect search with limited scope on that SH + Hasties/BT/IT/Innovation/GS etc - then we can prune results and choose the best, even guaranteeing a certain HQ% so we will be able to use reclaim, and the bot will be near perfect, only thing that will be missing is mama optimization.


I fixed the bot, I'll post it when I'm home.

lol.. just noticed it wasnt working when i went to make 22 titanium rivets.. Oh well. I'll just wait for it to get fixed. no biggie. Luckily, yesterday i went on a major marathon and HQ'd a crapton of materials. So i can just craft a bunch of weapons and armor manually using HQ mats, and dump them on the market for monies.
