Progress on Map Decompiling

ok So I have been having some fun playing with the map files from time to time and I have the DMap file down pat now. Although the app I made to turn them into a text file version runs EXTREMELY slow. To the point it will stop if the file is too big. Wont take much to make a new program but I am not going to be doing that until I have a small custom map made.

oooooooooooo nfos LOL!

editing these would be a pain in txt form but talking to you on msn i didnt notice you released this

i kinda had other things on my mind

very good work funhacker .... maybe to something like jpg form for viewing (you could look at a nfo to jpg converters code for this) but as for editing 0.o editor coming our way lol? i could imagine an editor that looks like minesweeper xD

Well since late last night I have tried a **** load of DDS plugins for c# .NET none of which worked. Each one said they were unable to locate DLL -.-

So I will just be converting all DDS to jpg for now to make a working model before I try DDS loading/drawing.

you sure you added the dll to the files and stuff .... sometimes it gotta be in the debug folder too ...

Yep, apparently they are not compatible with 64bit OS.

But of course unable to load DDS lol so it's not able to be finished. I might try hand writing a map of my own.

Erm, EO uses some kind of maps and then texture them with the textures provided, would be nice to make another program which shows the maps textured. Am i right?

Maybe i can just try to help on C++ if the problem is mainly dependent on speed. Was Learning the magic world of templates, STL, Meta Programming. still a begginer tho, How is it going funhacker?

I know how they read and write maps. Speed is no longer an issue I am able to output a 45mb map into a text file. My only problem is a dds display on 64bit
