weapon effect

weapon effect

Hi me again back to pick brains i have been trying for 3 days to add a necro weapon which is a success to a degree 1st off no matter what i do it wont let me buy it from any of the shops gold or ep??

2nd the biggest issue im having no matter what i try i cannot get the unique/elite or super effect to show when i have the weapon equiped it keeps the effect of a refined staff

can any1 shead any light on why i cannot get this to work pls??

1 add it to the shop.dat and cq_goods to make it purchasable in a shop

2 look at your effects and object entries in your ini files ... they probably all point to the same effect

as I mentioned before all your weapons look the same because theyre all pointing to the same effect

in this case
470220

if you want one set to be different point it to another effect
maybe
470221 ?
or
470224 ?
or
470225 ? (but your missing some weapon entries for this one)
dunno what the extra effect ids used
are
will be whatevers different in your files...
although technically they should all be different
but that makes for a really large client unless you pack the images
in which case they could actually all be the same and still point to different effects

hint: look at your other weapons and their effect entries

No this is just for the one weapon in this case a necromancer staff i can now buy from shops thanks for that but it still wont show any effects i can make it super but the super effect doesnt show as for the ids pointing to the same effect i dont get your meaning i have followed every TUT and ive even used other weapon files and just changed the ids but with no joy at all.

lmao u silly guy even it is only one weapon ..... its all using the same effect ... you take the one for example super and point it to the effect for the super version of that weapon

all points to 470220

yes they all point to different effect ids you are correct but they dont seem to be any different
try looking at the effects and see it seems to me like you have the super effect on all of them or none of them which ever is the case u made them all normal or all super
ideally you would have a different effect for every version of your weapon

hint: since its a staff take a set of files from a working staff and change the relevant ids to the ones you need for this one simple done

also theres a button for thanks lol

alright ... there are two sets of "vampire" weapons circulating...
I do realize these are not for "necromancer" but wait
these two sets that are in the two different releases
one has the same error you mention where it doesn't look different
when its super ....
and the other has this problem fixed ...
i would suggest downloading both and comparing them to each other
and then comparing your files to them

I can't honestly remember if the monopoly affects any of these but ensure your refined, unique elite and super items all have a monopoly of 12
Also ensure that all the IDs in the itemtype have the correct id in the item data area.

To make your items sparkle when their in the inventory, just open up itemeffect.ini It also has the configuration for the sound to play when you drop the item. It's pretty straight forward once you see it.
