It useless to say that hacks made with WinHex wont work. The client has to read the info from somewhere, now where? The packfiles? Of course, and that = WinHex hacks fully working. If not then you're just messing something up .

The problem instant death, at least for me, is that the data.pak is in a foreign language, probably chinese/japaneses/korean...as a result, i have no idea how to search the offsets and edit, like we normally do with winhex.

If the names are incomprehensible then you can always search for index numbers and known number signatures .
