Why not make players just earn coins by participating and winning Deadfronts
Killing bosses completing dungeons it will give guilds more meaning and make actual content worth playing like dungeons that no one uses and bosses that no one ever kill. people would work as a team.
make bosses drop Items that are trade-able for Dshop coins like you obtain a 1 voucher = 40 coins bosses would have to drop a few and as far a dungeons make it a reward at the end like crespo run and magic crevice run at the end instead of getting just obsidian and a crevice stone you get 1 voucher that is worth 100-400 coins.
make like a automated script that goes every x hours to take all vouchers in players inventory and converts them to dshop coins I mean you wont know to you log back in but you can have a timer go off on site voucher exchange count down so people know when they receive them.
along with a lottery idk make pk and pvp points useful winning pvps and pk in exchange for lottery entries to win coins or a random item.
people would use the battle system more and it will make them worth winning then just maxing out you total pvp points and just going around killing people and getting nothing beside a few pk points in return

just giving away coins doesn't sound like much fun to me to be honest.
starting everyone off with coins is okay as long as there is no gifting.
then you would just have a flood of spam accounts.
There is honestly no server open that is bust your ass to win only servers that are pay to win and every thing is given and then there is nothing else to do you already have everything.... I would rather play a server that is fair and not having to really spend any money cus its a pserver it was made to enjoy not to empty my wallet. Then you have you server that the admin just give there friends OP gear and that just ruined the game server justed started and there are already people running around max lvl and full +12 or 9

this is a cool way to get coins. And also add vote for coins like 25 coins per vote and earning by killing bosses or finishing dg/df
