Darkorbit PServer copyright shit

Hey elitepvpers
i want to create soon an small PServer for Darkorbit but i dont know how can i publicly launch it without getting owned by BP.

Does someone have some great ideas how to do that?
How does Uberorbit or OneUltimate do that??

When you use their graphic, source code or company name...they can put it down. The basic idea of game is not protected by copyright...so it means you can create +-same game but without using their code and textures/graphic...then it should be safe or the other way is to ask them for some kind of license for you to provide PServer(I think that this wont happen). Idk those private servers mentioned so I cant tell u why BP didnt put them down..usually BP start to care about those servers when they got bigger/more popular.

Simple answer: don't bother. If you have the skills to develop your own private server then just make your own game, could even be inspired by Darkorbit. Otherwise, you're working on a project reliant on a client and graphics that don't belong to you which means you're always open to being shut down at any time.

dont use their name. dont use their graphics. dont use their client. dont use their ressources.
aka. create a game yourself with own ideas and own graphics and you are good to go.

but how is Oneultimate, Uberorbit and andromeda able to have thair Game online without beeing shutdowned by BP?

hm... yeah i guess Oneultimate is pretty big.. so BP should start carring about OneUltimate?

and how does OneUltimate do that without beeing down??

So.. what is if i change the whole CMS and as mutch as i can? Like.. own CMS and the loading screen of the client is smthing else.. but the ships on the map are from BP? i guess the can still take me down.. but maybe they just login on the Site and check if there is smthing and dont go on Spacemap??

dont worry dude, nowadays darkorbit doesnt care anymore about that. I guess u are good to go to launch your "p-server". Since they have to care about their own game to keep it alive, they should have more important stuff to do, than shutting down a pserver

That may be true but its to mutch risk for me.. i need some security for that.

in short..you wont have any security ...dont bother creating Pserver...In case you create one and you will have success with it...BP will know that...and they will put it down...dont bother with that...create new game...use your fantasy...and you can create smth much better than their games+earn some good money+you wont have problems by violating the law.

still i dont know how is Oneultimate able to have thair Server running without Problems??

Older versions of DarkOrbit are not copyrighted anymore, you can use it.

What do you mean with that? So the older client.. like.. the Client from Oneultimate is not anymore copyrighted cause DO has updated thair client? Do you have an Article or smthing like that and a link to it? i was searching for that but i didnt find that.

But that client from Oneultimate is the 11th version.. so its still copyrighted?
