EFT cheats were going for 150$ per month a few years ago.

Kernel-level anti cheat is definitely the reason!
the real reason is that having secureBoot activated made it very difficult to avoid detection.

Software signature can be created randomly for each user with a backend structure

some Overwatch cheat providers did this.

the packer/obfuscation I believe that several used on the market, the most popular ones, have already been broken and they already have tools for reverse analysis.
