Re-released: Editing Armor.ini

03/27/2007 00:45 Asanine#1
I've decided to re-release my guide on modifying the armor.ini.

Editing armor.ini is basically modifying your armor to look like something else.

Aside from all that, let's start with basic armor editing. For an example, we're going to change a 70 big male orange trojan armor into 120 big male black trojan armor. Here's the breakdown of the digits in armor.ini:

1st digit: Body (Character)

1 = Small Female
2 = Big Female
3 = Small Male
4 = Big male

2nd and 3rd digit: Always 13 b/c this gives it the armor attribute in item.ini

4th digit: Job

0 = Trojan
1 = Warrior
2 = Coat/Dress
3 = Archer
4 = Taoist
5 = Trojan Master
6 = Warrior Master
7 = N/A
8 = Archer Master
9 = Taoist Master

5th digit: Color (Colors may vary with armor type)

0 and 1 = N/A
2 = Black
3 = Orange
4 = Light Blue
5 = Red
6 = Dark Blue
7 = Yellow
8 = Purple
9 = White

6th digit: Level of armor

Ok there's been some confusion here, and I don't think I've explained it properly so I'll break down the lvls by class:

Noob:
0 = Coat (lvl 1)
1 = Dress (lvl 2)

Trojan and Warrior:
2 = 15
3 = 22
4 = 32 (colors 2-5) 40 (colors 2 and 6-9)
5 = 47 (colors 2-5) 57 (colors 2 and 6-9)
6 = 70
7 = 87
8 = 100
9 = 110

Archer:

2 = 15
3 = 27 (colors 2-5) 42 (colors 2 and 6-9)
4 = 57
5 = 67 (colors 2-5) 77 (colors 2 and 6-9)
6 = 87
7 = 97
8 = 107
9 = 112

Taoist:

2 = 15
3 = 22 (colors 2-5) 32 (colors 2 and 6-9)
4 = 40 (colors 2-5) 47 (colors 2 and 6-9)
5 = 57
6 = 70
7 = 87
8 = 100
9 = 115

There is a bit of confusion here, as some colors are limited at this level in order to mix 22/32/40/47 (27/42/67/77 for archers) together without exceeding the 9 digit for normal classes.

7th digit: Always 0

Open up armor.ini twice with notepad, and press crtl + F and input the following, based on the guide and what you wish to modify.

NOTE: When using crtl+f, be sure to use ONLY digits 2-6 in your search. If you include 1 and 7 it often stumps the search and is not found. Be sure to click find multiple times using this until you find the code with your 1st digit before it.

Using this guide, we find Big male orange 70 trojan armor, which is 4130370, and Big male black 120 trojan, which is 4135290.

With both the notepads open and both on the specified armors, Simply erase the mesh and texture code of your armor and replace it with the armor's mesh/texture code you wish it to be.

Note: Be sure to make a copy of the normal armor.ini and put it in a safe place in case something bad happens!

Save it, then open conquer. If you did it correctly you should see yourself in black 120 trojan armor! Keep in mind that this is only Client-Sided, meaning only you can see yourself with black 120 trojan armor, unless by some silly chance that someone has the exact same modded armor.ini as you :?

COMBINING ARMORS

Note: If your character is slightly disfigured and you do not like it, do not be alarmed! When combining armors, textures can be very unstable, but can look very cool when combined right.

This is very cool, but can make your character look awkward if it is a bad combination. This is very simple:

1. Open 3 armor.inis (or 2 if you want) Notepad is suggested.
2. Find your armor in one Notepad.
3. Find the armor that you want your armor to be the shape of in the 2nd notepad.
4. Copy that armor's mesh code and replace your armor's mesh code with it.
5. Use the third notepad to find what armor color/texture you want your armor's shape to be. Be sure to specify what color you want it to be.
6. Replace your armor's texture code with the specified armor's texture code.
7. Save, and Open conquer with your armor on to see what you've created :S

Tip from Gamer2006: Do NOT combine genders, see Post #15.

It's client sided, as I've mentioned in the guide, meaning that only you can see yourself in that armor.

That is a different .ini. Armor.ini only specifies armors, though I've seen that if you don't modify it right, it gets that thing where you can only see the hairs/hats of the players and the weapon trailing behind them.

Nice guide +k for you :D. Is there a way to edit weapon.ini if there is plz direct me to a guide or mabye just make one :)

@pokey2: Sorry for not being here to help I thought my guide was buried for good so I didn't bother checking anymore.

@asdfjkl: There are a select few bugs that occur if there is a mis-typing or error in the .ini that I have not been able to find out how it happens. I've been very busy lately and do not think I can look into it now but when I have spare time I'll try and see if I can find the cause of this.

@David5646: My good friend mastered the weapon.ini and the containing super weapon effects in another .ini but I never bothered to ask him about it. Should anybody be writing a decent guide on the weapon.ini (and effect .ini) It would be him. Next time I get a chance to talk to him I'll ask him if we could piece something together.
