Coding a server?

im interested to code game server and i want to know what i need to code it ? programs? programing languages like (pascal, java, c++) ? is it hard? what i need to know about game?

well, first of all u have to know what game u want to emulate...
then a few things u need:
  • 1st: english is useful ;)
  • 2nd: Very good programming experiences
  • 3rd: u have to analyze the packets send by the application
  • 4th: u need a root-server (i think)
  • 5th: best would be if u know/understand the sourcecode of the Game
  • 6th: u should look if there are already released Emulators for ur game
  • 7Th: u need REALLY MUCH TIME!!
  • 8th: best would be a team of developers, that work together
