DMA question

So I am interested in getting a DMA but had some questions regarding a second pc.

I have a Rog ally extreme with a dock that has some usb 3.0 slots. Would that work? I posted the specs of the system at the bottom.

In theory, it can be used, but the actual experience is very bad, as its read and write speed is very slow

The R/R speeds of the rog ally itself are pretty good and the dock I am using has USB 3.0 speeds of 5gbs. Would it really be that bad?
