Silkroad Texture Upgrade

09/25/2023 00:26 Valuex Creative#1
I think I managed to improve the quality of Silkroad Textures. :D:D Is there anyone with experience on this?

BEFORE - AFTER (1st image Before)

Note: The developed texture is still demo. It looks a little pastel because I haven't worked on it much. But I will work on it and share it on the thread.

Note2: It's definitely not Photoshop, it's an in-game image.

Hm, could be intressting, the only thing that "worries" me is, will this affect perfomance? Like, a lot of people play Silkroad, especially VSRO on older machines becuase the economy is completely ruined, i hope you get my point. Can you say anything perfomance wise?

I haven't tried it in a multiplayer environment or on a low-end PC yet. I have a good computer. I will be making changes to a lot of files soon. We will see what happens little by little. This is a hobby for me. Even if not everyone uses it and I will only use it in my design works :D

Looking forward to see results, this could be game changing.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] would be the only way to improve significatively textures without too much effort.

Silkroad uses low resolution, almost everything seems to be 256x256 or less, so the space for the detail is very short. Increasing resolution will improve it but as you guess, it will require more computing resources like RAM to hold such data.

You can find most mobile games are using even higher textures but with low poly stuff.
Silkroad Online fits into standard mobile games today, just slightly higher poly it have.

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about. Correcting all textures will result in large file sizes. But I think it won't be a problem if I only do it in places that are seen a lot.

To be fair, im pretty sure, a huge playerbase would probably be willing to sacrifice a little more ram, to have an improved silkroad experience. The game is old, very old. It's always refreshing to have some new content or even quality of life improvement like such. Therefore, let's see if Valuex is actually doing a whole package for the textures and manages to blow a little more fresh air into the Silkroad Scene.

I did a short answer, specially when you're talking about performance.
It will take resources like RAM indeed, not just RAM.
One of the main reasons people still play Silkroad Online is because it's low resource compsumption, not even talking about server allowing bots.

I'm not stopping you tho.. using StableDiffusion is not that hard.
It's just my opinion. :p

Search Reshade on Google!
Use Version Dx9 on Silkroad!
Good Luck!

I use leonardo AI to upscale textures. It not only upscales but adds some significant changes. With the help of AI and little bit knowlege of photoshop you can refresh model look.

Noob question, but how do I extract, upscale and slap the textures back in game?
