99% of the programs everyone is using are ridiculously easy to create if you have any clue about memory editing in the first place. I was suprised to find that when I downloaded Mr. Argus from this site, that it truely felt like a program I had created for myself not long ago.
What I would propose, is to have a thorough discussion, or some sort of organized list of WHAT each memloc can actually accomplish. I can tell you all about how to make your own Mr. Argus, in fact I might write a tutorial at some point. I think that once someone has explained HOW these programs are created that we won't be relying on cracking software off of pay sites anymore.
I'm not some amazing cracker guy, I'm just a stupid script-kiddy who's managed to stumble across pertinant information. MOST of the stuff that these paysites are doing isn't ridiculously complicated.
Basically, what I'd like to compile is a list of different data structures, and what information they contain. I mean, I don't know what the [INITCODE] is for example, or why/how Mr. Argus disables it and what not. That would be something nice to know.
For example: The "Player Location" data structure is currently referenced by THESE pointers, and contains Player X coordinate located 0x64 bytes from the beggining. Changing this value will do <whatever>.
I know the stuff isn't EASY to find. But once you've got a chunk of people looking for new stuff I don't think it would take long before you could have enough information available to do something relativly useful FOR YOURSELF.
Once we have a list of WHAT data-structures there are, and what they contain, and how (at least in current versions) to find certain things in the FFXIMain.dll (or other modules for that matter) then we'll have set up an infrastructure which would make everything so much easier for everyone looking for things in this forum. We could write our own stuff.
And I mean, I know stuff changes with updates, but I also know for a fact that the stuff I've been using hasn't been totally reworked, and once you know what each thing does, after an update its just a matter of finding it again.
This post is just to see what other people think of the idea. I honestly think it could turn out to be quite useful. Post your opinions. Some feedback would be great.
