This topic might cause a lot of controversy especially since it's posted in epvp forum. But then again not many options available are there? If i'd post it in a specific discord channel it'd just get deleted there anyway - additionally to that I am living in an european country where there's freedom of expression, that being said hear me out.
We all had our fair share of fun within the private server scene in the past. And i'm talking not only from players perspective but also developers / admin perspective. IT students, devs and other IT employees could evolve and improve their IT skills by learning and applying knowledge into a game they loved since childhood. Additionally they had a chance to get some additional income especially noteworthy for students. On the other hand we have the players who never were able to be "OP" on officials so the private servers provided them with an opportunity to pk toe to toe with other high-end players. So far this was all fun and agmes and we can't deny it was a nice experience. However we've all grown up, have stable income and some have even families. Most of us want just to relax after a hard day of work and play a bit of 9D for old times sake. But due to the lack of players on all these diverse servers we have a massive reduction of that fun. Since there's hardly any joy if the community is dead. The sad thing is, the community itself isnt really dead but they're just spread to across too many servers. The only way to fix this in my opininion is if 9D players wherever they may be playing all unite in a single server. And undeniably the best server suited for this cause is the official server 9D Papaya. It has many free giveaways cheaper prices then other officials x2 credit events, free kl7 relics etc etc. I think the best case scenario is if we all just meet there and have fun on daily basis chatting, playin, farming together etc.
Therefore I have a few suggestions. For one the private server devs would have to move on since to be fair maintaining a 9D server is way too time consuming for the economic return it brings(I say this as former ZeroN 9D and Project Alpha server owner). Secondly these devs are better off investing that time into finding a good paying dev job. It will also help them develop their skills if they do regular professional coding reviews and it will be better for their mental health too since they are taking part in society and doing a honorable job.
Towards the players I have to say you have all experienced now what it means to be OP after years and years of playing on private servers. The next goal should be to be able to take part in a very populated server and have nice talks & chats within a big community while farming and pvping with nice people.
So long story short. We should stick together and let the private server scene die for good as this scene should be considered deprecated in todays time. I suggest we all should try to unite in a single server for the benefit of all and I suggest that server should be the official 9D Papaya server.
