Working on a Graphic Extension for Metin2

I'm working on a graphic extension for Metin2, which allows players to play with better graphics. Also it solvessome performance problems.

It is a .dll extension, so players can use it on every gameforge servers & pservers.

If you have any idea to improve, i would like to hear. Thanks.

It changes effect render system, so you can get better performance. More effects around you = More FPS.

Idea: Outline mobs, players, metin stones, etc.
Reason: In [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] the player sees the boar quite late, which is a huge disadvantage over the other players that do not use your modifications. With outlines that render through things like grass one would be able to spot it sooner.

but i need to filter out myself, use different colors for different types like mobs, players, stones etc. Also needs to show mob outline behind the grass, tree etc like there isn't grass etc. I'll try it.

Maybe a thicker, bright orange outline is more visible. Not sure how you implement the outlines, maybe a DirectX hack like in first person shooter cheats to display enemies might be an option.

use red outlines and they shouldn't be to thick otherwise it looks kinda "comicy"

besides that maybe an option which lets u decide the weather conditions etc.

good job overall looks very good

Thanks, i'll add that setting as option also with different colors & sizes. But if i was playing it i guess i would play with names on.
The main problem to improve it is dx9 has 3 render targets limit and i'm already using 2 of them. So I have one render target left, I would like to use last render target to get more information about render result (depth) and use it for snowstorm, sandstorm etc and more effects. Maybe i can find a way to use depth info for outline. Because with current depth info i cannot detect pixel is on tree, mob or ground etc
