For gameservers, be it private, or official?
Or do GM's log in with a custom server client?
I have a theory I'd like to try out, but I need the hostname to test my theory.
It would explain gold merchants, and gold generation for gold merchants.
Yes Gold hack is NOT POSSIBLE.
I do understand that, but as a white hat hacker I also know that if the gameserver is POSIX standard then Root can be logged into, and you could create gold as an admin on the server. " I think... "
GM's can generate items so I'm pretty sure Root can make gold, and do all the server administration from anywhere unless root side is on a WAN Gateway, while the clients log in VIA through the gateway.
So is there a way to determine the gameserver hostname????
I personally think that is how the gold merchants exist.
With chinese gold merchants thats totally understandable since that country is known for it's cluster hacking that it has done on Numerous companies, and if they have obtained remote admin then it would make total sense as to how aeria, and Sonov have yet to remove that gaming problem....
So...
Any clues guys?
