This isn't the biggest problem of the game right now (sadly). Look at Meteonyker, this server was full as f*ck in the first 3-4 months and a lot of people enjoyed it there. But it was so dumped by dupers. We had so many storys about perfect weapons and armor which was simply not possible so early in the game - even with p2w'ing.

They have to get their shit together over at korea and fix those damn dupes. P2W is totally bad, you're right. But Flyff was heavily p2w for many years before.

The time you have counted online players were kinda mischosen but in general we can say that Flyff is probably keep held by veteran players only.

Thanks for sharing the data. Would be interested, how many counts you get in a few months, before update/after update, new content announcements etc.
But I assume that the number isn't much higher than right now.

Would you also share the technique, how you count all online players?
Was it tricky or simple?
Could run some statistical analysing with SciPy.

True that. Aside from the duping they could also fix alot of issues / bugs that have made players quit like range asaling etc.

I used to play and love this game years ago starting from 2008 and it was my first mmo and the best one.
I played in the US server Clockworks before it get merged as the population got down.
I was enjoying it even I was not high level, at that time there were few high level and pro players like Eskwyre (MoB guild), Rikky, Ghost, Zeal, etc...
I even remember the first hero was KillerKortiz and other pro dudes like Xurtan from Lawolf...
Too many good memories until the update of 2012 if I remember (maybe when awakes were added) and that started to kill the game because people were buying Revs like hell and the prices on the CS started to rise up very fast.
In the other hand, players who dont use the CS was forced to farm a lot to get penya and ask other players to buy CS items for them but the grinding in FLYFF is very hard and will cost you a lot to buy a +8 set so the paytowin and the crazy prices made a lot of people quit even they were high level and perfectly equipped (but they have to pay more at every new update as they will need the endgame content to do the new dungeons).

I don't think duping is the first cause, it may accelerated the process but as I said it is the bad game updates, the CS prices and the hard grinding system with a quest system that does not give any XP except some 2 or 3 quests..

Back in the day there were even worse hacks than dupes like letting you spawn actual items, but the developers kept working on the game and fixed most of these issues quickly

as far as i know ppl still dupe and do bad shit on official so
i donno what to say
private servers way better developed then official even if we lack the latest source of the game

I don't think duping would be the main cause of things going to hell. It definitely affects things but in a game like flyff like a majority of the playerbase isn't that deep into the endgame or economy for duping to even affect them.

At this point the game just seems dead.
07/23/2018 21:43 Synode#13
Updates like 5 Slot awakes/Augmentation Scrolls, S/R and 10/12% Cards increased the gap between poor and rich too much.

Harp Earrings/ Uriel Soup pushed Billposter too hard
Melee Block is too high so blades etc arent viable in Guild Siege

Really much people quitted cause' of Item duping, game balance and p2w.
