Silkroad Online V2.0

i was wondering if any programers intrested to make private server for silkroad 2
i think it will fit on 2017/2018 years and i hope there will be special section for it
so we can all work toghter there to develop first private server for v2
and i would like to hear ur opinions about this new Silkroad v2

It is hard to do new stuff like that because we don't have the source & as far as i remember only MeGaMax & PainKiller even with this stuff they can't do a lot of things.
You have to do a new server with your own files but it will take around 5 years to animate new characters, skills, game system & a lot of stuff, etc..

Legends of Silkroad (Silkroad 2) got canceled and died long before it got popular. There should be a reason why people refer to Silkroad Online instead.

And by changing just a part of the game structure requires a couple of things. The movement/animation files (*.ban) are uneditable, if you have not the source asset of the files, since they are also pretty much encrypted. They have been created by and with 3Ds Max Design.

I wouldn't call it uneditable nor are they encrypted, just an usual in-house engine format you have to figure out. I recently managed to import them into Unity myself and [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] visualized them years ago using XNA.


There's more research and testing to do, but writing an import/export plugin for either Blender or Max is possible in my opinion and would give you the closes to an original asset you could get.

'Silkroad' 2 failed for a reason.. i don't think private servers are needed.
