Hmm, we should restrict the karma system for newcomers so they're unable to give negative karmas. I doubt someone will register here just to give someone a positive karma.

just set it up to have something like at least ten posts to give/take karma

Then people will just get on, register, and spam for 10 posts just so they can mess with people's karma.

I'd say 20-30 posts. And getting rid of spammers is easier than people who take karma for no reason.

What exactly is the point of karma? Other than you can see "oh this person has 60 karma, can be trusted, is respected, etc.." is there really any bad things happening now that you're so far negative?

karma/post counts are lame and usless..... if the post has quality its worth reading... if it looks like shit.. i say fuck it! its not worth my time if it isnt worth his/hers..

Post counts are useless, but karma isn't. It motovaites people to do something to help others so they'll get karma. negative karma is pointless though.

hmm wonder why the CO community is fucked up like that why dont you mass pm the ppl who took you a karma and tell em what you told us here in your first post lol
