I dont know much about programming but i was wondering since we cant see if an item is +1 on the ground since the server chooses to make it +1 or not when u pick it up...then can we isolate and find out wat packets r sent when u pick an item up to make it +1.....also im wondering since when u pick an item up and its +1 if when u drop it u can edit chocman4k's ini file to enable u to see that +1 on the floor

yeah and both is impossible

when an item is droped it gets a number

and when you want to pick it up you tell the server you want to pickup item number xxx and then the server tells you what the item is

when you drop it again the item gets a new number and the client forgets if it is +1 or not
(the server remembers it so don`t think when i drop it one thousand times it gets +1^^)

ok but if the server rembers that it is +1 on the floor y cant u make something to be enable to see thats its +1 on the floor like seeing the item quality

well, his method is flawed, but what if this was to happen, item drops, char picks it up, and since the client can obviously tell that its a +1, a sound is played, maybe somethign similar to the meteor 'ding' alarming the user that a +1 has been picked up

/edit: from a programming stand-point, this is possible, the program, or injected dll whatever it may be simply reads the inventory, item by item and plays the appropriate sound when some shit is picked up, this can be applied to ref, uni, elite, or super items as well, without the need to replace the original itemtype.dat. if i was big on debuging and reading memory id do this myself, but since im not :? im gonna leave this to the more experienced

question is, not if one can see on the ground - question is - if there's a way to alter the packet from the server on pickup that a normal item will pickup as +1 (or a +1 item will pickup as +4)

my guess - no

but PLEASE prove me wrong :D

I sadly agree with SO, TQ is not that stupidly unsecure. If you prove him wrong though, I will give you two weeks worth of karma!
