You have to find the files in the character folder for holding shields (fighter/defender), copy them into the priest/mage folder and (if needed) rename them. I think that's the most simple thing to do

this files is .ANI ?

Yeah, these are the .ANI files in your ANI folder. You'll have to find the correct animations for shield and add them onto the .ALT files in your Character>Race folder.

You don't have to rename them, simply adding to your .ALT file is enough, of course moving them to the correct Race ANI folder is needed too for Elf/Vile. I haven't actually tried this so even if done correctly it may not work as intended.

At first comparison, my guess would be these files might be for Shields, as they're present of Human & DeathEather "f" class, but not for any others.

What Wallerus said. I know that on Shaiya Exile for example the 2hander sword is upside down and the 1handed blunts do not sit correctly in either factions hand. I spoke to the Dev about it and they have tried everything. Sometimes they simply won't sit right no matter what files you alter. I hope you figure it out and good luck!

A simple fix is adding the ANI files of fighter/def to the priest/mage ANI files as Wallerus was trying to explain to you, and yeah you find those ANI files in your Data folder ( this is a lot easier to do on a local server than to make the full update for players, so pretty smart to do this before publishing your game).

I think "th" stands for "two hands" (2-hands weapon used by fighter).
the use of shield seems not linked to specific animation file, or possibly one of the 1-hand, 2-hands or dual weapons animation files include a check to manage shield.

Here is the list of all animations:

Edit:
I forgot to clarify one point:
Years ago I helped Xtreme GMs to add shields on all classes.
I don't remind troubles related to shield position.

There I actually don't know what is the trouble, apart of course that ... splash of color.

On the first pict, the OP indicates a "normal position of shield", from my opinion is too high but it's pointless since we don't know what the pict shows; is it a true capture of in-game rendering or a manually drawn pict to indicate us where a sword and a shiled are supposed to be ? (I assume we know it but...).

On second pict, a red splash is possibly your badly-located shield, assuming the splash is a shield.
If so, you first forgot to show or explain how that shield is rendered on a class that yet supports shields.
Without this info, we can not exclude that the issue come from invalid coordinates in the 3DO file.
Of course, if the same shield is finely displayed by another class, the first thing to do is to add not defined animation files in the .alt of the class showing issues.

I thought it was th=two-handed too, but I didn't rule out a bad translation of "2nd hand" (off-hand) since there is many of them throughout the game, although you're probably right after looking at it again.

If the Dual-wield animation does control it, you should be able to test this by allowing shields to be equipped by Hunters since they have the ability to dual-wield swords too.

Time ago I've added shield to mage/priest/archer just for testing, and I didn't have to edit anything, they were already in the correct position in the toon's arm.

to change x y z you have to use 3D tool [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
01/03/2016 06:57 vacbomquanui#14
Hammer:
x = 180 y = 90
Shield
x = 270 y = 190 z = 60 (x = 90 y = 0 z = 60)
Sword (Dagger)
x = 180 y = 270
bow
x = 180 y = 270 z = 180
Staff (0.007 - 0.008)
x = 180
Spear (0.009)
x = 180 (z = 180)

Some x y z for converter to 3DO hope this help you :D

yeah the 3d object converter is what you need. Its not free though but its cheap and you should support the creator its an awesome tool.
