With the action-adventure "The Last of Us" the American video game developer Naughty Dog created one of the most successful titles of last year. In addition to countless high scores in reviews of known magazines and aggregators, it also achieved big success in the context of DICE Awards and prevailed against its competitors with a total of ten trophies. Again and again a growing number of people calls for a sequel and wants a reunion with the ruthless survivor Joel and the courageous orphan girl Ellie, as are the protagonists' names in "The Last of Us". So far there was no information on the part of the responsible game developer Naughty Dog regarding this topic, however, game director Bruce Straley and creative director Neil Druckmann now talked about it in a so-called "Ask Me Anything"-session. Consequently, the chance of a "The Last of Us" sequel is about 50 percent. Furthermore, Sony Entertainment, the parent company, has trust in Naughty Dog and gives them full freedom in deciding whether to create a sequel or to try a completely different thing.

"Sony has complete trust in us. It's really up to us to come up with something that will keep the team inspired for the next several years — which is why we don't take the decision of what we'll work on next lightly", said Druckmann.
