Did you save it the proper way? did you use the alpha mode correctly? (if you are using photoshop)

It looks as though you have added a background colour behind the font. Either that or you have an issue with your alpha layers. I tend to just save them in Paint.Net so I never have any issues.

Can you post a picture of your .dds file here for inspection?

People need to stop using that stickied tutorial.
Edit: Try mine and see if you can get it working. Tell me if you do.

This happen cuz u didnt save it in a proper Extesnsion ... Use png Extension that wouldnt be creating any problems

@shadowman123 : wtf u talking about dude, conquer won't read it if it's not .dds

@Fang : i'll try your Paint.Net but here's the idea: i make a new file with photoshop, and save it as png, open it from paint with the original dds, and make the required changements to make everything working

I'M TRYING RIGHT NOW

Open the file in paint.net. Then, bring it over to photoshop (if you insist on using it instead). After you're done, save the png and import back into paint.net. Then, save it in paint.net as a dds file. Making a new file increases the risks of it not being the right size or have the right placement. Remember to backup the original.

Btw, there's no plugin or update(call it what u want) that gives Photoshop(CS5) these features?

You don't need to do all that. You saved it with too little alpha, also you didnt correctly use the alpha layer. I will provide an example:

This is not a great alpha layer as i just copied your image and used that, but it shows you the purpose. Everything you want to be NON-transparent should be white, invisible should be black, transparent can be any shades of grey depending on how strong you want the transparency.

Also your save format should be as followed:

DXT3 ARGB 8 bpp | explicit alpha
2D Texture
-Generate MIP maps

Paint.NET is a fail program and i feel bad for anyone still using it.

Well when you have issues getting .dds plugins working for CS6, Paint.Net is excellent for saving a .dds to png for you to edit in PS and vice versa. Anyone actually doing the edits in Paint.Net I feel sorry for though.
