[Release] Wallhack Tutorial [Expedition]

11/25/2008 19:04 HellSpider#1
So I made this tutorial because I received several PMs about people needing a redirect for a decent Wallhack tutorial.

So the usual stuff: You need a Hex editor, i prefer to use WinHex.

Download WinHex [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. You have to register the trial version with a license key provided [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].
_______________

So in steps:

1) Open pack.d04 in WinHex.

2) Go to Offset 289204473 (DEC) - 113CE8F9 (HEX). Scroll

down until you find the map you are looking for to edit.

3) Change the .mac file to a desired one.

Quote:
10,Castor Cave,castor.map,castor.mol,castor.mel,castor.mac,Map\10_Castor_Dungeon\NPC_10_Castor_Dungeon.csv,3 .5,20,1,10,88,12,50,50,-2,0,90,light_castor.txt,
water/skyCube_no=.dds,75,castor.pre,60,17,10,15,0,20,15, 1,-0.5,0,0,3,60000,
0,1,1,0,1,0,1,0,0,0,1,
There are many alternative .mac files used as replaces. Two of them are:

+ login.mac = This makes invisible walls in semi-random places in the map,

but has fly too. (Fly means whenever you hold left mousebutton down

you will fly to the middle of the map.)

+ web_image.mac = This makes no invisible walls, but not fly either.

So an edited line with login.mac would look like this:
Quote:
10,Castor Cave,castor.map,castor.mol,castor.mel, login.mac,Map\10_Castor_Dungeon\NPC_10_Castor_Dungeon.csv,3 .5,20,1,10,88,12,50,50,-2,0,90,light_castor.txt,
water/skyCube_no=.dds,75,castor.pre,60,17,10,15,0,20,15, 1,-0.5,0,0,3,60000,
0,1,1,0,1,0,1,0,0,0,1,
Note! There is a [SPACE] in front of the login.mac because

the filesize of the pack must remain the same.

Now there is a problem fitting the web_image.mac into the small

place of the castor.mac, isn't there?

To make space for the web_image.mac you can shorten the

name of the map.

To shorten: Highlight digits with mouse and press Delete on keyboard.

To lengthen: Press on the digit that you wish to have new digits before and press Insert

on your keyboard.

Like this:
Quote:
10,Cas Cave,castor.map,castor.mol,castor.mel,web_image.mac,Map\10_Castor_Dungeon\NPC_10_Castor_Dungeon.csv,3 .5,20,1,10,88,12,50,50,-2,0,90,light_castor.txt,
water/skyCube_no=.dds,75,castor.pre,60,17,10,15,0,20,15, 1,-0.5,0,0,3,60000,
0,1,1,0,1,0,1,0,0,0,1,
4) You're done. If it doesn't work for you check the filesize or edit again.

So I hope you understood how to change the .mac files for desired effect. Thanks to any readers :).

hey, i used logic.mac once in crespo dg B, but it seems to have some invisible walls, so i cant walk normally,

The invisible walls normally occur when you go from a normal map (no wall hack) to a edited map (with wall hack) and normally after you restart, it's gone.
I didn't use any wallhack but if i use, web_image.mac is preffered since i don't like fly.

Look down. Do you see braiken.map,braiken.mel etc? Look for the map you want to change then find the .mac of it and change that.

Dont shorten or lengthen because you are just asking for touble if you don't know what you are doing. You are better off just retyping everything from the map name on till .mac.

Some people, I tell ya.

So the settings in my second picture is good and nothing needs to be changed ?

Just take the letter "o" out of Crespo. Before it should say Treasure of Crespo A, but after you change it, it should look like Treasure of Cresp A. Then add a byte and change it to web_image.mac

Think I made it a bit unclear. If web_image.mac doesn't fit in the slot with the original .mac file, you have to delete as many digits as you need to add for the web_image.mac. :)
