Controversy over Zoomhack

TL;DR "Zoom Hack" isn't a hack, it's a mod to allow others to match the aspect ratio of people who have the money to buy a few more monitors.

Still, it's a modification of the client. The only thing Riot could do is to add this function by themselves to make it fair for everyone, which I guess they won't.

Yea it's a modification but they say you get an advantage and this is wrong. It's just fair.

how would riot recognize you using the zoomhack ?

scanning the zoom value for "wrong" numbers.
should be easy 2 bypass though i didnt take a look at it so far.

The Game client sents the current maximum zoom level to their servers

as far as i know constantly.

I feel like it's not constantly though. Because it will make their server more occupied/players to lag. I think It's either start of the game or end of the game.

a check every 5 min is constantly as well

max zoom range? means current zoomed range, or means the max allowed range? because im simply bridging the asm code which checks if i reached max, but max range stays same...

yeah just patch that jne to jmp and BAM zoomhack! OP!
