Nice work Twisted! Looks to be coming along nicely. :)

I remember noticing some auto-mob spawn code dotted about somewhere, but it was quite buggy, how's your code in regards to this?

Another little question if you don't mind, what sort of areas does your mob spawn populate? Is it simply the Jangan areas or others? Either way it's certainly an achievement. :)

How long have you been working on this by the way? Haven't had much time to take a look at the Emu yet myself, School and all :rolleyes: Still, free-times coming up near enough so should get some time to work on things then.

Keep up the good work!

Edit:

Just answer a few questions,

qn4o92: This emulator is only made via a programming language called Visual Basic. It seems to me that this project is simply to get more of a community aspect in regards to the development and to get people all working on it. As such, this emulator isn't the main project in development where it came from, DarkInc. The Visual Basic emulator will only be able to support a small amount of people, so if it does get anywhere near the likes of the Official Server, it won't be a high-capacity project. However, it does allow us all to see the possibilities and does give us advantages when developing larger capacity servers etc.

(Short Answer: This won't allow you to have a fully-fledged emulator that you can play with masses of people like the official servers.)

rulezpl: This emulator is "SREmu" from DarkInc's project, if you google SREmu and DarkInc then i'm sure you'll be able to find it, there's a variety of guides on their forums as to how to setup the emulator so I'm sure you can figure everything out from there. As for how to get the effects Twisted has made, well, you'll either need to figure out the code yourself or Twisted may release his adaptations of the code? Just have to wait and find out. :)

You can get the SREMU here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] Follow the setup guide carefully and don't ask questions about things not working in the emulator. If it doesn't work, (like proper exp/sp) it hasn't been coded yet. This is not a fully working emulator and has been public for several months. Also this is a VB6 version that isn't being developed any more becuase of the limitations of VB6.
BTW TwistedTC, you said you got skills working. Does that mean the ranged nukes are working too?

@up
we need to have twisted's filesm if we want all skills and mobs working :D
Twisted plz release!

@hitman69: SREmu, provided the way it is, in VB format, gives limited skills abilities, ranged skills such as nukes do not work, your character simply runs to the mob and attempts them whilst standing next to the mob. -Chernobyl asked rightly so if, by saying "skills working", Twisted is referring to ranged skills working, if so it is very different to the way SREmu is provided currently.

SREmu also doesn't provide a mob spawn feature ingame "as is", when downloaded. So it's already different to what you can get off the official site. NPC Spawning too, (if this is referring to NPCs such as Pot trader, Teleportation NPCs etc all spawning on server creation).

So, you can probably agree, that the SREmu that Twisted has coded is entirely different to the ones provided currently, interesting thing will be to see if Twisted will provide his source, hence keeping to the Emu's Open Source idea. :)
