Well if you are using vb.net , use this one :
SendKeys.Send("1")
But sro_client should be foreground. If you want to do it at background just check SendMessage API. You'll find a tutorial here at epvp , just search for it :)

Maybe use google? Things like Sendmessage, findwindow or maybe sendkeys etc. ;). You'll learn more that way then just copy and paste the specific examples in your project. I had to learn it too for my project (iBot Tool).
