These elite plus 2 items cannot be used as real gear. You have to throw them in the trash at level 100 as they cannot be upgraded any further and cannot be used in composition sold traded etc

The reason for it is so people can get familiar with the server before they have to worry about gear. Considering level 100 only takes a few hours we could make these items super plus 5 and they still wouldn't be useful outside of levelling as nothing can be done to them except as a quick way to jump into the server and level up to 100.

With there being other options out there for super hardcore servers now, I don't feel that bad making our server a bit more newbie friendly.

Let's face it in the scheme of 130-130-130 getting the first 1-100 isn't hard. These items just serve as a carrot to get players who wouldn't normally play a mid rate server to stick with things and give us a try.

Ps: I've seen non donators do full 1 Soc items in a week or two or playing so elite plus 2 is like... First day style gear except that elites we're not worth selling so you had no real way to get the gear you wanted in order to level

A new video is online! I can't say I'm 100% happy with how it turned out but it's a nice way to freshen up our advertisement for the server.

Along with this video we've started a new set of advertisements throughout facebook and other sites so we can definitely expect to see some 'fresh blood' joining the server over the coming weeks.

We're also planning to improve customization options for our players through yet MORE garments!

It's no secret that players like looking unique so here's what we're planning to do.

#1: We are re-vamping our garment collector to let you trade in old garments you no longer want to receive garment points.
#2: We will now allow you to purchase random new garments using garment points.
#3: We're adding a new series of garment re-touches every couple weeks to keep the selection of the garment gambler nice and fresh. There's no reason we shouldn't have that neon pink suit you REALLLYYY wanted or a silver version of gold cloth or any other possible re-color you can think of.
#4: We're going to continue adding custom garments and when we do we will try to add 2-4 versions of that garment. Not everyone likes the same stuff so why should we force you to all look the same?!

Here's the first batch of garments which will be added later tonight.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

PS: Also adding a few new football jerseys for those who want to represent their home country. This patch will include England and Switzerland.

Awesome new garment. Hopefully the advertisements work and we get some new peeps to enjoy the server. It's still the most balanced one out there today and you won't see it dying for a long time unlike other servers.

Happen to know if this servers works with Windows 10? Tried playing another server earlier and the login screen was completely black. Really hoping this doesn't have the same issue.

I have played on windows 10 since the new OS was released with no issues. If you experience any issues just hit us up in our live support. We can walk you through it using teamviewer if needed.

Looks like that's my only option. Got the black login again.

He's probably talking about the persistent lag spikes every other minute :P

The weird thing is, I don't get those lag spikes. I usually have between 90 and 150 ping.

Still doing final tests to be sure it provides a good experience but this will mark our first instanced boss fight. We've toyed around with some basic boss mechanics before but we wanted to step things up for those who enjoy that type of content.

Sands of Time

An evil has been rising in Desert City for some time. The monsters there already know and have been trying to warn humans but no one seems willing to listen. If you speak with the the StoneBandit ontop of the Mystic Castle entrance he can help you open a portal for you and your team by harnessing the power of 100 meteors.

Note: You MUST form a team to be able to join. You'll ideally want a full team of 5 players to do the event. It's NOT something you should be able to solo.

Once you enter there will be a portal. When any of your team enters the portal the ThrillingSpook will appear to fight you and your allies. It takes 1,500 hits to kill regardless of your gear and has 4 main things you need to worry about.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

#1: The ThrillingSpook will auto attack whoever is closest to it. its damage is significant enough that you generally want a relatively tanky target to absorb this damage (trojan/warrior/tort water)

#2: Every auto attack from the ThrillingSpook applies a damage over time burn that deals % current health damage. This is to encourage your tank to maintain agro because you do not want that dot being spread to your other allies

#3: It will drop warning circles on the ground after 1.5 seconds these targets will explode into a dangerous whirlwind! Standing in the whirlwind deals 2,000 true damage every half second. They vanish after 2.5 seconds.

#4: Randomly the Spook will create a different type of target. Anyone standing on it when it explodes will be struck by a massive lightning blast and take 7,000 true damage. Immediately after this lightning strike, daggers will fall on that location dealing 3,000 true damage every half second for 4 seconds.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Strategies

We're interested to see what strategies our players come up with to best this new challenge (and yes, we will be adjusting difficulty as needed) but here's some tips to get you started.

#1: Watch for the targets. this is obvious but you REALLY need to pay attention. If you are caught in a lightning bolt you are very likely going to die if you dont immediately move.

#2: Try to avoid swapping agro unless needed. The burn from his auto attacks last approximately 5 seconds so constantly swapping who is taking damage from it will actually really harm your teams chances because you will be receiving much higher incoming damage.

#3: Bring at LEAST two waters. If you only bring one you're very likely to have a rough time as if one dies you'll be incapable of reviving in the map

#4: Don't bother trying to poison it... it's immune to poison damage.

Rewards

As the cost to enter the boss, the difficulty of the fight and the duration of the fight are all pretty high, we wanted to create a number of different rewards our players would be interested in.

Exclusive sands of time garment: 100% drop rate
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

+2 stone: 70% droprate
+1 stone bag: 30% droprate

Empty Flask: 25% droprate

No major issues, except the lag spikes that occur periodically. Thats a pretty large issue.

Exactly.

Spirited, you claimed your account was lvl 60 or something the other day. You sit on your mod account and don't play the game. when I sit in the mkt and just talk my "ping" is perfect. When you actually try to do anything other than that its complete shit. Pair that with you completely biased opinion on everything you comment on and one would understand this comment.

I have nothing against Chris, I respect him. I, however have been a loyal player of this server for many months now and there has ALWAYS been an issue with lag. You can ask anyone that has played the server for more than a day.

Yes, this server is great, larger player base, a lot of PvP events and all that. But I do believe the only thing keeping people here is that there aren't really any other alternatives out there.

edit. Lets add to the list an increase in the times the client freezes or disconnects you. Its been happening to everyone.

"You sit on your mod account and don't play the game."
That's simply not correct... I have characters I play on. I realize you likely have good intentions, but please stop involving me. I'm not doubting that there are lag spikes; I just don't experience any higher than the amount I specified. Then again, I'm not doing PvP events, so maybe that's why. Everyone's going to have a different experience depending on how they play. But yeah, dude - back off a bit. I know there's a problem, Chris has mentioned this to me. Sorry it's affecting your gameplay, but it's just not noticeably affecting mine as much.

There is two main problems that result in poor player experience (aka lag)

#1: There IS an issue server side that happens very periodically. It's really, really weird in how it happens and we've ruled out pretty much everything we can. I still apply efficiency fixes and improvements every few patches to help ease the issue (and it's helped a lot). This issue generally only happens if the server is online with many players for multiple days with no reboot or update

#2: There have been a large number of provider and routing issues where certain players based on their route experience issues. These are upstream of my provider (NFO servers is working fine, internap or partners that peer with them seem to be the cause). I've forwarded logs to NFO and they seem to be able to resolve them very easily. I've been nothing but impressed with their support but we're aware that this has caused some issues for players.

I feel a lot of the spikes are a result of the dynamic load balancing internap does (they re-route connections constantly to try to provide a solid connection. This can result in spikes while it's being swapped. Unfortunately because those are not issues from the server or even the host of the server we're not able to make any changes on that side.

I'm doing some testing with other hosts although so far I've been very un-impressed with them.

Redux Is Hiring!

We have recently lost one of our overnight mods and are looking for someone to replace them. This is a paid position. Here's a copy of the message from our forums.

Quote:
Hey Everyone!

Pro and I have an available spot on our support team. We are looking for someone that would be able to help players in our Live Chat system on both Apex and Triumph. We're needing the hours of 11PM-7AM Eastern Standard Time covered in live chat.

We're looking for someone who has a passion for Conquer Online and is familiar with all the functions of our server. Customer service is very important and we expect the right candidate to have great and friendly customer service skills. The chat system we use has both desktop and mobile connectivity so you can still help players while on the go. You'll be most commonly helping players download the client and get it extracted and dealing with any error messages that may come up. We also get a number of questions pertaining to the actual server itself.

The ideal candidate must be fluent in English but ideally may be able to offer support in other languages as well. Also be aware that this is a paid position.

You may apply through email at briannorth.yt (at) gmail.com

I obviously don't know anything about the source you're using, but have you profiled the memory allocations? It could be a blocking GC on gen2.
