This cant be True... what about LAN Cafes.......... they have more then 2 ppl and its all on the same ip.. that would be dumb

I think this will be fairly impossible to do, because of the way NAT works, then what will internet cafes do?

Internet cafe players are a good source of DragonBall buyers anyway, it would be fairly doubtful that they will lock out those players, they'd be fairly dumb if they did.

Edit: The most practical way to do this is detect binary modifications in conquer.exe, fairly simple to do with CRCs or MD5 hashing etc.

if so its thersday and severs are down it may be the 2nd rb or to stop multi client if so i did get to use multi client. if so this sucks(still it can be something els) o and you can play on 1 ip just new a dif comp to do so or the multi client

You also can do port forwarding in your router.

Some games you can only play on 1 pc on internet like some shooters if you do port forwarding then you can play on internet with all your computers.
(like enemy territory)

I don't gonna use that cause I don't know excactly if it will work and how it works.

ok how about the people playing at the cafe... is there any posibilities htat they will detect to

It would be monumentally easy to detect concurrent connections from the same IP and wouldn't take a huge update to do so, maybe 6 or 7 lines of code on the connect/disconnect routines that's all.

There's many reasons this wouldn't be a good move and probably why they haven't done it before. Net cafés for instance usually use the same IP for all the PCs, and a lot of DB business is done with people who use net cafés. Home networks as well will generally use the same IP for the PCs using it, even some ISPs work with a VPN or NAT system that make all the users share the same IP. It would be a definate shot in the foot if they did this as multiple connections from the same IP does not mean that someone is multiclienting.
This is very true, In the UK one of the main IP's in my area uses the same IP for most of the district and it can be a real pain it the backside if you goto a website that checks IP addresses and limits downloads accordingly. Not to mention like has been said I have 3 PC's on my home network and a WiFi connection for my laptop all accessing the same Internet conection and static IP address so this would really be a very stupid thing for TQ to do. Doesn't seem very likely to me.

Now that is a very good point and I will be unmoding my EXE until this is disproved/proven! :?

i dídn't use it so no problem for me

Then they hack your computer if they check your exe file has been modificated that's illigal.

Well I will see on wednesday cause then I'm in a kind of internet cafe and most of the ppl their play CO. I also have 3 computers that all can run CO.

I hope this is a scare tactic of TQ, I think they hope that ppl stop using multi client mods by doing this. This is also a theory of my GL. I told him about this but not said where I had this info from.

If that was the case then checking your version before updating would be the same would it not? If the file is checked at update then it will not be an illegal act!
