I have been looking through the threads but still haven't found it, I am still looking but does anyone have a link to the all maps but one that just has all the original without all the extra events open? Or is there anything yet with just all the original events without the extras? Appreciate any help for this! Awesome work to everyone involved getting everything to be used!

No, that makes no difference, they are the latest files and I have the latest dl installed.
I have switch them back and forth, restarted game, works exactly the same and the only difference is that high settings becomes active.
Plus since there is only one copy of the program itself files, nothing else is different, obviously.

The thing is though, not everyone will know the actual path they belong in.
Who ever shared them, just provided the Data folders.
He did not include the paths/folders needed to put them in.

Where is the tutorial available? I don't even know how to set up these things.

most of the shared content just goes in the server editor folders.
You just have to locate the proper folder and replace what is in there with the ones you downloaded from here.

for example, the [all cars in dealer] share.
It comes with a basket folder, which you replace with your basket folder.
it also has a catalog folder, the three files in there, you just add into your catalog folder and allow it to over write the three files in your catalog folder.

win.
plus always shut down the game before adding in the shared content

Should be obvious, but if you don't plan on unpacking the original server again and again, once things get stable, copy the original files and give them a .org/.bak/.whatever-but-xml filename in case something goes wrong when you want to tinker with something.
(This is from previous experience installing and modifying mods in my other NFS games for personal use)

NOTE: Existing installations already have these ‘Maximum’ textures downloaded. We advise these players do not change this option from ‘Maximum’ to ‘Standard’ as this will prompt the client to download additional files (and thus causing additional download times for these players).
The standard download/graphics means a reduced download time and HDD space IF you don't plan to use high/max settings "in the future" (aka now)

If you planned to upgrade from standard to Max, well you do an extra download for the max textures. (which I presume overwrote the original files)

Hence why there's 2 versions of NFSW. (not including language differences and how NFSW using Ascii sets for Latin languages and Unicode for the rest)

In theory, no difference for lower level of detail. Usually it's the texture detail that can do alot of difference for High/Max settings..
Say the licence plates.(Yes, I ripped them before)
Max settings (car detail level 1) in memory's 256x128.
But on minimum, it's ummm.. I forgot. But at least 128x64 (4 times smaller file size)

Dunno. It's not that important to run the game.
Maybe it's checksums or hashes for the updater to check if the files are the correct version or something. Or it could be useful for client developments.
(Also I have trace.log & updater.log, useless without a updater that's junk right now)

For those not able to use powerups, that is most likely why.
Thanks for that tip.
I haven't really bothered with the PU issue... no need to when you got a good car + racing line.

You don't need to put them in any folder. NFSW client by design (strangely?) is completely portable.
As in you can run it from almost any folder on Windows. (Even on a USB if you feel like it)

The data folder is all you need to run the game.
The launcher is what would update/verify the game files. (aka, update and do idiot checks, lol)
It's the launcher that has registry dependcies. (which can hopefully be migrated to *.ini files)

add-on: On the .hsh front, I have:
HashFile.hsh
HashFileen.hsh (English GUI text hash file)
HashFilefr.hsh (French GUI text hash file)
HashFileTracks.hsh (tracks...)
HashFiletw.hsh (Traditional Chinese GUI text hash file, aka Taiwan for historical reasons)
Don't know if they can yield any useful information, so I'll keep them.

If your powerups are not working, almost it has to be windows blocking them.
I did not look, but I assume in windows firewall settings is where one would set them to allow.

So if one puts the Data folder on their desktop, sets the path in the server editor to that, the game will still run?
Interesting, would not have believed that.

My game started up much faster before switching out the Data folder.
I am going to re-add those hash files and see it the really makes any difference.

You can even run the client (and offline server) off portable HDDs.
Naturally USB2.0 bus (Not the traffic bus) would cause a bottleneck when loading binary into RAM.

I had to do that to avoid breaking the TH-streak a few times when I wasn't close to home.
(I used a Visual Basic script to save login time)
- Pull into the closest McDonalds that has Wifi
- Start the laptop
- Pop in the portable HDD
- Connect to the internet (even though it posses a privacy risk)
- Run shortcut to VB launcher I have in same folder as NFSW.exe

Much more fun than editing game launcher registries every time the folder moves.

Oh nice just gave that a run with the game folder in my server folder and changed the settings.ini of the server to reflect the new location for the nfsw.exe and works. Will be nice to get everything into one folder. Thanks for the info!

So, the program(86) Electronic Arts folder and files are no longer in use or needed?

For now, it's not needed to run the game as-is. But I suggest you to not delete it if you have it previously
Who knows what NoSpax had uncovered in the patching system. (Until they can confirm the launcher is truely useless)

A like is fine.. Try to avoid posting short posts if necessary. (Better to have more unique info on less posts than have it scattered around)
