Better make a petition on the internet and let peoples to sign it, by that you can get joymax attention, your "email" wont help you to reach target.

What's the point of asking if there is nothing ( i mean effects with emulator).

You're right by saying that it would be better to work together - developer and community. But it should be done something here in that point. I can show you on example.
Grindroad asked people after they present their effects.
For me it should be done when you can present something, when basic systems are done. Then you can think about "expansion" by new ideas.

And also i think that the key of getting nice community is not doing that what people said. The key is presenting something new - suprise like ufunose did by doing angel vs demon system.

In theory should be possible to make Shadow of the collosus like game using vsro(without climbing and other parts).
Why you need normal mobs and thier spots? its boring... It would be nice to base whole game on "uniques". Of curse you will need to rebuild whole world map to make nice instances for that mobs and so on. It should be possible with sro client.

But if you have nice game server engine(just like me) which can be prepared for anything you want, best solution would be make your own game client with team of talented graphic designers, programmers and arttists and then making shadow colossus like game without limitations of sro.

If i would have money/peoples to do this that would be already done.
Shadow of the collosus presentation:

science fiction? no, everything is possible when you have resources.

SotC without climbing is not SotC. Silkroad is an spamming-skills game, unique hunting as the main goal is a failure.

Have a storyline is more realistic though, you dont have to change too much, you can base the storyline on the current Silkroad maps, npcs and monsters, the problem is that if the storyline is the main core of the game, once it is done... what you can do? Servers with it wont last too long.

How you want to create something outstanding when you wont change too much? you must be ready to work hard and trying to make impossible.

Well, i didn't want to say this idea in puplic before finishing it by 100%
but since i made it about 70% ... and i am kinda bored from silkroad at all right now :)
i will tell you..

it is about .. Removing the Potions.
Silkroad always look ridiculous for me becuase of it's potion system
this insta regain always look silly.
i Decided to Remove all the potions from the game, and Lower all the skills Damege by 90%

for example : a Glaiver want about 56,000 damage to die..
but for killing it you deal over 420,000 damage because he insta heal
so we will remove this insta-heal but skills won't cost 8k and 9k damage anymore
it will cause 900 or 1k by maximum;
i think this willl be more fair for each race and each build in everything in silkroad
and by editing Force, Bard and Cleric Healing skills we will make it balanced
and i manged to create a potion that work as a skill that regenerate HP n' MP overtime
so that it won't be shitty in grinding, although it was going to be for my new PVP server
which mean no grinding .. but their was uniques

it is kinda a hard idea by nerfing each damage dealer in the game by 90% without forget a single one.

i already tested this between a Glaiver and a Blader ... and it was really more fun and more advanced.. but i observed that we should also decrease knockdowns and stuns and all debuffs by 50% so that it won't take the chance to the debuffed character to lose the ratio between his HP and is opponent

You are messing with the balance of the game, so much headache, I won't dare to do such a radical change with the builds, you can test as much as you can, when you open your servers players will be complaining because x build is op or too nerfed. Definitively not worth the time.

Also what balances the euros and the chineses is the potion delay. No potion = no balance between them.

Because I'm thinking based on the current situation of the SRO scene, we are lacking an animation editor, a map editor, and many other internal files that we can't create from scratch (bsr's for example). If we had tools for all of that I would have my mind open to more challenging suggestions, but with the tools we have right now such radical changes are not possible. I'm also speaking about using official server-files, you with your emulator have a bit more freedom, but you are still limited by the client (since we also dont have the source of it). There is a limit of what can we change with debugging.

you start your argument from the point that you will work harder to change the sro client, than the amount of time it would take to create a completely new MMO, this is quite pointless imo

I can only be glad people are still trying te revive Silkroad into the great game it once was.
But why did everyone enjoy their time on iSRO or the old classic pServers?
I think why everyone enjoyed it is because they had a big and active community.
Because if we look at these servers, and even iSRO, gameplay wise there could be a lot to be improved.

So in the first place, getting an active pServer with the SRO community re-united in this game environment, of 25 servers releasing a day promising all kinds of shit and failing 1 by 1, is kinda impossible.

A good solution would indeed be what Portal said about filtering the advertisements or at least make stickys or something for long term/stable/original well made servers. This will give people a feeling with the server that they are in the right place to finally settle down and give this server a real chance!
This would give server owners time and space to actually improve their server without having to worry about an empty server. (Ofcourse this is the tricky part, because any little fag can give any server a hard time by using ddos/exploits or w/e is available).

Now i realise my post is getting a bit long but for the server features itself i would personally recommend this:
- The SRO community seems to want/need a bot available in their game. So dont give yourself a hard time forbidding botting, just make botting useless and punish any form of multiclient! 1 Char a person should be the key to succes.

- Make the CAP max 100, maybe even lower and bring out updates once in a while (An update doesnt have to be a cap update, but at least something people can look forward to, and get excited for)

- As earlier said this game lacks endgame content and i saw someone say lacks creativity. However thats not entirely true i would like to indeed see more possibilitys for end game gear. The stats should be around the same (a little difference wouldnt be bad). But having like different items to choose between in each build will create an environment with much more possibilitys. Because lets face it, seeing all bladers with the same weapon on the last degree is kinda boring.

- Now im not entirely sure about this but it seems like it could work. As also earlier said many ppl bot for alchemy stuff, like elixers or stones or other shit. As i saw on Venture they did it nicely adding those stuff to NPC while taking away gold drops. So ppl have to be active in job to make gold -> alchemy. This looks like a good idea, anyways my gut tells me there is more to this, why not change the whole alchemy system. Now since i do not have any specific knowledge on how this would be possible, it would make your server very original and there would be so much possibilitys with this.

- Also making some money with your private server isnt a bad thing. As a player I would rather be able to donate and get some cool avatar with this than play for free in a FULLY free player-donator balanced server while the owners dont have money to protect this server. Sell things like avatars/xp helpers/iventory expensions but dont make it pay2win. So dont make silk items sell for golds!

i THink thats about it! xD
Sorry for the long post, I hope its readable :P

Your overall idea is nice, the advertisment section should be fixed asap if we want to improve the quality of the scene, I already made a thread trying to get the attention of the epvp admins, but for now they seems to ignore it.

But why everyone hate high caps? You miss a lot of content on low level caps. =(

IMO i think your end focus on the max degree isnt that wrong.
But the way i see it is that to high rates will make a server boring quickly. Only much good endgame content can compensate this, however this is very hard to create in terms of creativity.

If you are releasing a 120 cap server with mid or low rates, I think it would be to much. It should go step by step, at least if you want to keep people interested.
